Ladies from the Craft Group have made a commitment to St Mary's Home for young mothers and mothers-to-be. On July 27th they brought 20 hand-made painting-smocks for the children, and enjoyed a tour of the home and meeting young mothers. The ladies are continuing to knit and craft for the Carlingwood Christmas bazaar, with proceeds to go to St.Mary's.
Residents enjoy opportunities to participate in recitals and other events with local children from the community.
Residents are encouraged to get their hands dirty in gardens around the community.
What our Residents are Saying
“Thank you so much for all that you do for my dad. You take such wonderful care of him; we so greatly appreciate all your kindness and support.”
– Deb & Family
“We have thoroughly enjoyed our two years here and have been completely happy with the services provided by your dedicated staff. We could not have asked for better. We look forward to receiving a continuation of the high standard of services maintained by the Riverstone family of retirement residences.”
– Elaine & Hugh
“Their caring and devotion to the residents is always evident and it provide us, the families, with much reassurance especially in difficult times. Thank you to everyone.”
“Over the months, she truly viewed it as home. She also made new friends, which helped her mindset tremendously as she was isolated in her old apartment and had no real social interaction outside family and doctors. She has been lucky to be relatively healthy and independent, but we always knew Carlingwood had solutions should she need additional assistance. It was also evident that the staff acted like a family (everyone knew everyone else and all just wanted to help) which significantly contributed to a positive environment. I know that culture is hard to cultivate and impossible to fake.”
